New Moon in Pisces Themes
We welcome the New Moon in Pisces on March 18 at 6:23 PM PT. This is the final New Moon of the Astrological year, so it can feel even more charged than your typical New Moon. Take a deep breath and dive into whatever themes speak to you.
This New Moon in Pisces invites you to:
Reflect and release. With Pisces being the final sign of the Zodiac Wheel, you may feel a pull to look back on the last year. Rather than feeling pressure to make resolutions like you might for a new calendar year, this is more about understanding what is/isn’t working or feeling good and then getting clear on how you want to feel going forward. It’s time to integrate the lessons and let go of anything you don’t wish to take or repeat in the next cycle. You may want to set some intentions, but there’s no need to jump and take action on big goals. Let yourself rest, reflect, and dream.
Be compassionate and forgiving as you reflect. Life gives us all ups and downs to navigate, and even though we might try, we can’t control everything or always get the outcome we want. Sometimes you have to surrender and trust the Universe. Accept what this cycle brought to you and accept all of who you are—a divine spiritual being who is also human (and hence always growing and healing).
Use your imagination. This New Moon is often associated with manifesting, but not all of us relate to that word. I want to focus more on imagination as a way to work with this energy, since Pisces encourages us to embrace intuition and imagination. This is a lovely time to imagine what your life could look like if you pursued and received all you desire. What would you do, what would you create, how would you feel, who would you connect with? Paint a picture of what you want to experience and create in this lifetime. In short, it’s time to dream! And hold this dream as precious as you move into a new Astrological year.
Trust your intuition and connect to the spiritual world. Pisces really encourages us to lean into our spiritual gifts and prioritize our spiritual lives/growth. Look for signs from the Universe or your Spirit Team, and engage in the practices that help you connect to the Spirit World. You may even want to pay closer attention to the dreams you have at night and see what they might be telling you about what needs healing and what you truly want in this next cycle.
Look for ways to connect imagination and dreams with reality. With the placement of Saturn and Neptune at the time of this New Moon, some also see this as a good time to bring some structure to your dreams and to the beautiful things you can imagine. Again, there’s no need to turn on the pressure and take quick action, but you may find it easier to create a plan around how you want to bring these dreams to life in the next cycle.
As a Pisces, I might be a bit biased, but I think the energy around this New Moon holds so much beauty and potential. The biggest thing I will be focusing on, and what I want to encourage you to embrace (especially if it feels out of your comfort zone) is imagination! Imagination is playful but also powerful, so consider this: What if everything you imagined you could create? Maybe it’s not instant, but by holding that vision steadily, building in that imaginative world over time, what might happen?
And remember: We can imagine and paint our dream lives, or we can stay stuck in fear or worry and imagine nightmares. Choose to focus on the dreams and send love to any fear or worry, being open to understanding and healing.
I want to know what you’re feeling about this New Moon! Are any of these themes popping up, or is there something else entirely calling for your attention?

The Message
In case it does not appear for you, below is the message in the image above, brought to you by the Wheel of Fortune, the Magician, and the Moon Tarot cards:
Surrender to your intuition, your dreams, and the natural cycles of life.
You are a gifted spiritual being. No one else can birth what you came here to create.
What will you breathe your life into?
Your Soul Journaling Ritual for the New Moon in Pisces
Before sitting down to journal, set up a nice, cozy space. In addition to your favorite journaling materials, you could light a candle, diffuse essential oils, set out your favorite crystals, and display the Tarot cards you might want to work with for this New Moon. You could also bring out an Oracle deck. Pick and choose any, all, or none! Do what feels right.
If you’re working with the Tarot, here’s what I suggest having nearby or on your altar this New Moon:
The Wheel of Fortune: The primary Tarot card of 2026, which reminds us that life is built of cycles that we must ebb and flow with, and no up period or down period is permanent. It also brings us an element of luck and opportunity. You can read all about the 2026 cards and the Wheel of Fortune here.
The Magician: The secondary Tarot card of 2026, which reminds us of our own power and ability to manifest or create what we most desire in life. We have all the tools we need. You can read all about the 2026 cards and the Magician here.
The Moon: The Tarot card associated with Pisces, which reminds us of the importance of deep, honest reflection so we can see ourselves clearly. It also encourages us to connect to our intuition. (Read more about Pisces and the Moon card here.)
Your Tarot card(s) of the year: If you don’t know what it is yet, discover it here. (In the paid subscriber community, we’re working together to better understand our personal card with monthly explorations. This month, we’ll be looking at how it can help us create a new beginning and tend to our seeds this Spring.)
Once you’ve gathered the materials you’d like, settle in to do the Soul Journaling Session, which includes a visualization and a Soul Prompt. The prompt is written as a direct question to your Soul, and this is the prompt we use for every New Moon. You can choose to journal a response or even pull your own Tarot/Oracle card for the prompt and journal on that message.
The recording of me leading you through this is below, and if you prefer to follow along on your own with a written out version, you can access that here.
NEW: I have added a long version of the session below. Instead of three minutes to journal/meditatie, in the long version, you receive ten minutes, with the music playing in the background. Choose whichever you have time for!

The question for your Soul on the New Moon is:
Soul, where are you leading me this New Moon? What intention would you like for me to set for this new cycle?
Your New Moon in Pisces Journal Prompts
If you’d like to go deeper, below are prompts specifically speaking to the themes of this New Moon. Work with all of these or choose only the ones that speak to you.
Feel free to play sound healing or comforting music in the background while you journal. I’ve included a track created by my husband.
What do I not wish to carry with me into the new Astrological year, and what intention might I set for releasing this under the New Moon?
Looking back on the last year, where do I need to show myself forgiveness and/or compassion?
How am I feeling about my Spiritual life and practices right now? What practices would I like to start or return to as I connect under this New Moon?
What would help me embrace and tap into my intuition and imagination more?
What’s the best version of my life I could imagine right now? How can I keep a strong, regular connection to this vision?
Share with the Circle
While this is a solo practice, I bring the same energy to this space as I would a virtual or in-person Moon Circle. So I invite you to join the group in the comments and share with us: What intention are you setting?

In Our Paid Subscriber Community
I’m bringing paid subscribers along with me to explore our personal Tarot cards of the year on a monthly basis. Often, we don’t think too much about our cards other than at the beginning and the end of the year, but I wanted to change that!
For February’s practice, we dove into how our personal cards could impact creativity and inspiration for us. And this month, I’ll be sharing how it can help us embrace new beginnings and tend to our seeds for the Spring. (This post is coming soon.)
Want to support Soul Journaling Sessions without committing to a subscription? You can contribute a one-time donation via Buy Me a Coffee. And as I have just recently shared on Substack Notes, I am now pregnant with my third baby! So your donation will help us prepare for our new addition.
With much love and gratitude,
Marcy

Thank you again for this Intuitive Soul Journaling Session! 🙏 The words Trust and Proactive spoke to me during the meditation, which resulted in some 30 minutes of free flowing writing, which I will quietly read back to myself tomorrow, I sense the words need to settle overnight
I used to have a "moon journal" where I'd journal every new and full moon. This was something I loved to do, but because of lots of reasons, I ended up stopping. Today I picked up this old journal again (the last entry was from 2023), and looked for some journal prompts for the new moon, and that's how I ended up here. And I'm so glad I did. I really liked the meditation. And the prompts made me reflect about things that are going on right now in my life (they matched so perfectly to what's going on at the moment, I almost got scared lol). So, yeah, I'm really happy. I hope I can continue this practice. Sending lots of love.
