Full Moon in Capricorn Themes
This Full Moon in Capricorn arrives on July 10 at 1:36 PM PT. There’s some natural tension at play with this Full Moon: Cancer (the current Astrological season we’re in) encourages us to be in touch with our feelings and intuition, while Capricorn asks us to be practical and rational. But this tension is a good thing, as it invites you to establish a balance between the two—a skill that will serve you well in Cancer Season and beyond!
This Full Moon in Capricorn is an opportunity to:
Examine where in your life you’re leading more from head vs heart and heart vs head. Both have their time and place, and the goal is not to choose one over the other in any situation, but rather to strike the right balance. If you have a tendency toward one or the other, consider what shifts you could make to create greater harmony between the two. They don’t have to be in opposition!
Assess where you currently are and what you want for the future, then take responsibility and ownership of your path. You are where you are in large part because of the actions you’ve taken and the choices you’ve made. In many aspects, this is a good thing, and you can be proud of all you’ve accomplished! In other aspects, this might be more challenging, as you come to terms with any mistakes or wrong turns that have kept you stuck or led you further away from what you really want. Be honest with yourself but also be kind, letting yourself feel any emotions around this. These were valuable learning experiences. Now is the time to embrace it all (the wins and the losses) so you can move forward in a clear direction, with precision and grace.
Take the lead! Change direction or chart a new path if you need to. If you’re not currently aligned with were you’d like to go, decide what adjustments you’d like to make. Let go of what isn’t working or wrap up what needs to be finished so you can focus on what you really want. The more honest you are with yourself about this now, the better! Ride this momentum into the future you desire.
Even if it feels uncomfortable, lean into any tension and disruption that this Full Moon brings. There is so much wisdom that can come from these questions, conflicts, and explorations, which will ultimately help you bring head and heart together in harmony!

The Message
Your Soul Journaling Ritual for this Full Moon
Before sitting down to journal, set up a nice, cozy space. In addition to your favorite journaling materials, you could light a candle, set up some essential oils to diffuse, bring out your favorite crystals, and/or display the Tarot cards you might want to work with for this Full Moon. You could also bring out an Oracle deck if you want extra insight.
If you choose to bring out your Tarot cards, here’s what I suggest having nearby or on your altar this full moon:
The Hermit: The card of 2025, which reminds us of the importance of going within and letting our inner wisdom guide us.
The Moon: The secondary card of 2025, which reminds us of the importance of deep, honest reflection so we can see ourselves clearly.
The Chariot: The card associated with Cancer, which encourages us to take lead the and take action, moving forward with focus and determination. (I have a full exploration of Cancer & The Chariot, with journal prompts, coming out on July 10!)
The Devil: The card associated with Capricorn, which reminds us of our shadows—the things that tend to hold us back or trip us up, keeping us from going after and receiving what we really want. (You can read my deep dive into Capricorn and the Devil card here.)
Your personal Tarot card(s) of the year. If you don’t know what it is yet, discover it here.
Once you’ve gathered the materials you’d like, settle in to do the meditation/activation and Soul Journaling Prompt for the Full Moon. The prompt is written as a direct question to your Soul, and this is the prompt we use every Full Moon. The recording of me leading you through this is below, as well as a written out version for you to follow along with.
If you have time for a longer ritual, at the end of this post are journal prompts centered specifically on the themes of this Capricorn Full Moon.
Full Moon Soul Journaling Session
After taking a couple deep breaths to settle, follow the visualization below, and say silently to yourself or aloud the statements in italics.
Ground yourself.
Imagine there are roots growing from beneath you, traveling deep down and connecting you to the center of the Earth.
Thank you, Mother Earth, and the ancestors of this land on which I sit, for protecting and guiding me today. Thank you for helping me hear the wisdom of my Soul.
Connect to the Universe/Divine
Imagine now that there is a beautiful rose gold light flowing down like a waterfall from the sky/clouds/Universe (choose what resonates) above you. Perhaps the light is coming directly from the Moon. Choose the source that is speaking to you most today.
Thank you, Spirit Team, for protecting and guiding me today. Thank you for helping me hear the wisdom of my Soul.
Thank you, Moon, for shining your light and reflecting back what I need to know.
The light illuminates the crown of your head, activating your inner wisdom and connecting you to your Higher Self.
The light then travels to your third eye, activating your intuition.
The light settles in your heart space, connecting you to your soul.
Thank you, Higher Self and Soul for guiding me and allowing me to hear my intuition and inner wisdom today and all days.
Watch the light continue flowing down your whole body, washing away and releasing anything you do not need to bring with you into this practice.
Thank you, Spirit Team, Higher Self, and Soul for helping me release what doesn't serve me or this practice today.
Focus again on that light within your heart, and take a deep breath in.
Exhale, sigh it out, letting that light shine outward, opening communication with your soul.
Perhaps you even see this light reach your hands as you prepare to write, the wisdom it carries ready to flow through you and your writing.
When you are ready, gently return to your space, blink your eyes a couple times, and then gather your journaling materials.
Full Moon Question for the Soul
Soul, what is ready to be released?
Sit, listen, and feel into a response for however long you need to. Write down whatever comes up in whatever form it comes in. Perhaps you just write words or even sketch something you see.
If you want extra support or additional insight, pull a Tarot or Oracle card and use this as a jumping off point. Do whatever feels right in the moment.
Journal Prompts for the Full Moon in Capricorn
If you have more time and want to dive specifically into the themes of this Full Moon, try out the journal prompts below. To continue with the meditative journaling experience, listen to the sound healing track while you journal.
With this set of prompts, the first question will guide your focus for the rest of the prompts. You could do this for one or more challenges you’re working through.
Where am I currently leading too much from my mind, or relying too much on logic?
Where am I currently letting my emotions take over or run the show?
How might I take responsibility for bringing my head and heart back into harmony, and how would that benefit me?
What situations is it time for me take ownership and leadership of? What adjustments would I like to make?
Share with the Circle
I would love to treat this digital space like a virtual Moon Circle. Let’s make this a place where we can lift and support one another, while also boldly declaring to the Universe what our intentions are!
If you feel called, I invite you to head into the comments and complete this sentence:
“This Full Moon, I release . . . “
Did you enjoy this ritual and want more like it? It would mean so much to me if you liked, commented, or shared this post.

I did this today, and I must say that having your new moon and full moon meditations has made me actually honour these moon phases and journal and set intentions, which till now had remained on my “to-do list”. Thank you, once again, Marcy ❤️.
Ahhh I knew the moon must be close as I’ve been feeling differently and this week it has finally felt time to go a bit deeper and create…it’s usually the week after the full moon, but I am a Cancer!
Also interesting that I picked up a copy of Lori Dyan’s new book Big Deck Energy and this morning closed my eyes and opened it to a page—the chariot✨
As always I look forward to enjoying this session. 🥰
