Full Moon in Scorpio Themes
This Full Moon in Scorpio arrives on May 12 at 12:55 PM ET. Scorpio is often associated with intensity, and apparently the alignment of Mercury and Pluto is only going to add to this intensity, so get yourself ready for a potentially wild ride!
But donβt worryβthis intensity is a necessary part of the cycle. Allow yourself to βfeel it to heal it,β and it will be worth it in the end.
Hereβs what could come up for you during this Full Moon in Scorpio:
Intense or heavy feelings, sensitivity, and overwhelm. You might be more likely to notice that certain situations or people are triggering for you. Rather than get too swept up in these triggers, ask questions: Is this pointing you to a part of yourself that needs some healing or recognition? Remember to be kind to yourself, and do your best to stay present and grounded so you donβt spiral into overwhelm.
Your relationship with change and uncertainty, calling attention to those things in your life that might not be on solid ground or that need to shift. Do your best to release the need to control and flow with whatever this cycle brings you.
The deep desire to cleanse, release, and make room for healing. Now is a good time to explore shedding old skin or layers that no longer serve you and that have been weighing you down. Yasmin Boland suggests in her Moonology Diary that we all do a βdetox of the mind.β So if there are any habits, thought patterns, old stories, or mindsets that consistently trip you up, focus on these. Even if things get uncomfortable. (Correction: Especially if things get uncomfortable.)
After all the reading I did on this Full Moon, I feel like it is calling us to cut through our own layers of BS: What have you been telling yourself that just isnβt true? What do you keep doing on repeat because it keeps you comfortable? Whatβs hanging on for dear life but needs to go? Who has overstayed their welcome and needs to be shown the doorβfor the last time (cause we know you gave them one too many chances)?
Always be kind to yourself, but under this Full Moon, also be firm. Make the decision to release, then take the action.
Youβve had enough. Itβs time for healing and real, lasting change.

The Message
Your Soul Journaling Ritual for this Full Moon
Before sitting down to journal, set up a nice, cozy space. In addition to your favorite journaling materials, you could light a candle, set up some essential oils to diffuse, bring out your favorite crystals, and/or display the Tarot cards you might want to work with for this Full Moon. You could also bring out an Oracle deck if you want extra insight.
If you choose to bring out your Tarot cards, hereβs what I suggest having nearby or on your altar this full moon:
The Hermit: The card of 2025, which reminds us of the importance of going within and letting our inner wisdom guide us.
The Moon: The secondary card of 2025, which reminds us of the importance of deep, honest reflection so we can see ourselves clearly.
The Hierophant: The Tarot card associated with Taurus, which encourages us to build a strong foundation for our spiritual journey by honoring traditions, following a clear set of values or guidelines, or being part of a traditional organization. You can read my recent post on Taurus and the Hierophant for more details on how these two connect.
Death: The card associated with Scorpio, which reminds us that endings are part of the process and are necessary for transformation. Death is an opportunity to be reborn.
Your personal Tarot card(s) of the year (If you donβt know what it is yet, discover it here.)
Once youβve gathered the materials youβd like, settle in to do the meditation/activation and Soul Journaling Prompt for the Full Moon. The prompt is written as a direct question to your Soul, and this is the prompt we use every Full Moon. The recording of me leading you through this is below, as well as a written out version for you to follow along with.
If you have time for a longer ritual, at the end of this post are journal prompts centered specifically on the themes of this Scorpio Full Moon.
Full Moon Soul Activation & Soul Journaling Prompt
After taking a couple deep breaths to settle, follow the visualization below, and say silently to yourself or aloud the statements in italics.
Ground yourself.
Imagine there are roots growing from beneath you, traveling deep down and connecting you to the center of the Earth.
Thank you, Mother Earth, and the ancestors of this land on which I sit, for protecting and guiding me today. Thank you for helping me hear the wisdom of my Soul.
Connect to the Universe/Divine
Imagine now that there is a beautiful rose gold light flowing down like a waterfall from the sky/clouds/Universe (choose what resonates) above you. Perhaps the light is coming directly from the Moon. Choose the source that is speaking to you most today.
Thank you, Spirit Team, for protecting and guiding me today. Thank you for helping me hear the wisdom of my Soul.
βThank you, Moon, for shining your light and reflecting back what I need to know.
The light illuminates the crown of your head, activating your inner wisdom and connecting you to your Higher Self.
The light then travels to your third eye, activating your intuition.
The light settles in your heart space, connecting you to your soul.
Thank you, Higher Self and Soul for guiding me and allowing me to hear my intuition and inner wisdom today and all days.
Watch the light continue flowing down your whole body, washing away and releasing anything you do not need to bring with you into this practice.
βThank you, Spirit Team, Higher Self, and Soul for helping me release what doesn't serve me or this practice today.
Focus again on that light within your heart, and take a deep breath in.
Exhale, sigh it out, letting that light shine outward, opening communication with your soul.
Perhaps you even see this light reach your hands as you prepare to write, the wisdom it carries ready to flow through you and your writing.
When you are ready, gently return to your space, blink your eyes a couple times, and then gather your journaling materials.
Full Moon Question for the Soul
Soul, what is ready to be released?
Sit, listen, and feel into a response for however long you need to. Write down whatever comes up in whatever form it comes in. Perhaps you just write words or even sketch something you see.
If you want extra support or additional insight, pull a Tarot or Oracle card and use this as a jumping off point. Do whatever feels right in the moment.
Journal Prompts for the Full Moon in Scorpio
If you have more time and want to dive specifically into the themes of this Full Moon, try out the journal prompts below. To continue with the meditative journaling experience, listen to the sound healing track while you journal.
What toxic beliefs, stories, or mindsets have I held onto for too long? What am I ready to detox from my mind?
What steps can I take to begin to heal from the wounds underlying these mindsets, stories, or beliefs?
What might my life look like if I healed these? How would I think, feel, act?
If I begin to feel overwhelmed, what practices can I use to ground myself and stay present?
How can I remain in a space of love and compassion for myself, while also being firm about what I wish to release?
Share with the Circle
I would love to treat this digital space like a virtual Moon Circle. Letβs make this a place where we can lift and support one another, while also boldly declaring to the Universe what our intentions are!
If you feel called, I invite you to head into the comments and complete this sentence:
βThis Full Moon, I release . . . β
Did you enjoy this ritual and want more like it? It would mean so much to me if you liked, commented, or shared this post.
