Welcome back to our Journaling with the Moon series! These Soul Journaling Rituals are inspired by the Tarot Cards of 2025, the Hermit and the Moon. The prompts and practices here are designed to help you engage in deep self-reflection and channel your Soul’s wisdom. This is all about listening to the wise guide within.
Full Moon in Leo Themes
First, let’s do an overview of the themes we may see at play during this Full Moon in Leo, coming to us on February 12 at 8:54 AM ET. You may find yourself:
Feeling fired up. It may feel like an inner light is calling you forward, and you may have a strong desire to share what’s really on your mind and heart. This is a time to fully express yourself, use your voice, and speak your truth, in whatever way most resonates with you—and with this Full Moon, it’s likely you’ll express this through a creative endeavor.
Feeling a little vulnerable. On the other side of all this authenticity and truth-speaking is a little bit of tenderness around being so vulnerable. It might feel like all eyes are on you—but don’t worry, you’ve got this! Sharing your true self with the world isn’t the easiest thing to do, so be kind to yourself and celebrate your strength and bravery.
Needing to have a difficult conversation (or two). You’re ready to speak your truth—and sometimes that means telling someone else how you feel. If there’s a conversation you’ve been avoiding or words you haven’t been willing to speak aloud, you may feel ready to sit down now, have the conversation, and be real.
Reassessing your next steps. Just as you’re getting real with everyone else, it’s time to get real with yourself. Is what you’re focused on right now working for you? Or are you in a good place but avoiding taking the next steps into greatness? It’s a good time to assess whether you need to let something that isn’t working go, OR release those fears around making your next big move.
Above all this Full Moon, be honest with yourself, others, and the Universe about your true desires, hopes, and dreams. Be honest about what is and isn’t working, then let go of anything holding you back from moving forward. If it’s time to let something you thought you wanted go, remember that it’s okay to change what you want if you’re not feeling it. Release it and start anew.

Your Soul Journaling Ritual for this Full Moon
Before sitting down to journal, set up a nice, cozy space. In addition to your favorite journaling materials, you could bring out a candle to light, set up some essential oils to diffuse, set out your favorite crystals, and/or display the Tarot cards you might want to work with for this Full Moon. You could also bring out an Oracle deck if you want extra insight.
Of course, you don’t need to use any of these materials—just come to your practice with the intention of listening for your Soul’s wisdom.
If you choose to bring out your Tarot cards, here’s what I suggest having nearby or on your altar this Full Moon:
The Hermit (The card of 2025, which reminds us of the importance of going within and letting our inner wisdom guide us)
The Moon (The secondary card of 2025, which reminds us of the importance of deep, honest reflection so we can see ourselves clearly.)
The Star (The Major Arcana card associated with Aquarius, the current Astrological Season, which brings us hope and inspiration. You can read more about Aquarius and the Star in my most recent post.)
Strength (The Major Arcana card associated with Leo, which reminds us of the quiet, inner strength we each possess and can call forward at any time.)
Your personal Tarot card(s) of the year (If you don’t know what it is yet, discover it here.)
Your message from the Hermit, the Moon, the Star, and Strength (as seen in the image above):
Call upon your inner strength. Release your fears. Speak the truth.
It’s time you lit the way forward.
Full Moon Soul Activation & Soul Journaling Prompt
Once you’ve gathered the materials you’d like, settle in to do the meditation/activation and Soul Journaling Prompt for the Full Moon. The prompt is written as a direct question to your Soul, and this is the prompt we’ll use every Full Moon.
After I lead you through the visualization and prompt in the audio track above, I leave three minutes of music playing to give you some space to journal. The full text of this practice is also written out below in case you choose to do this practice independently.
If you have the time for a longer ritual, at the end of this post are a few extra journaling prompts centered on the themes of this Leo Full Moon.
After taking a couple deep breaths to settle, follow the visualization below, and say silently to yourself or aloud the statements in italics.
Ground yourself.
Imagine there are roots growing from beneath you, traveling deep down and connecting you to the center of the Earth.
Thank you, Mother Earth, and the ancestors of this land on which I sit, for protecting and guiding me today. Thank you for helping me hear the wisdom of my Soul.
Connect to the Universe/Divine
Imagine now that there is a beautiful rose gold light flowing down like a waterfall from the sky/clouds/Universe (choose what resonates) above you. Perhaps the light is coming directly from the Moon. Choose the source that is speaking to you most today.
Thank you, Spirit Team, for protecting and guiding me today. Thank you for helping me hear the wisdom of my Soul.
Thank you, Moon, for shining your light and reflecting back what I need to know.
The light illuminates the crown of your head, activating your inner wisdom and connecting you to your Higher Self.
The light then travels to your third eye, activating your intuition.
The light settles in your heart space, connecting you to your soul.
Thank you, Higher Self and Soul for guiding me and allowing me to hear my intuition and inner wisdom today and all days.
Watch the light continue flowing down your whole body, washing away and releasing anything you do not need to bring with you into this practice.
Thank you, Spirit Team, Higher Self, and Soul for helping me release what doesn't serve me or this practice today.
Full Moon Question for the Soul
The question for your Soul is:
Soul, what is ready to be released?
Sit, listen, and feel into a response for however long you need to. Write down whatever comes up in whatever form it comes in. Perhaps you just write words or even sketch something you see.
If you want extra support or additional insight, pull a Tarot or Oracle card and use this as a jumping off point. Do whatever feels right in the moment.
