I, too, am running a bit behind and just got to this post. You have done a lovely job of making the point of how important this nurturing motherly influence is during this season. I thank you for the reminder, and so do my goalsβ£οΈ
Beautiful Marcy, and thoughtful as usual. I watched a tv show called βHuman Footprintβ and an episode called βShelf Lifeβ which described how we have the modern supermarket today. It was appalling and boils down to our desire for convenience. I have been contemplating where, in my mental space or grocery shopping or my processes and habits; where do I favour convenience and where can I invest more energy and intention through proper process or detail? Iβm also writing through the moon phases and phases of a womanβs cycle for the chapter Iβm writing for an anthology scheduled to be published next year. Today was research day. I avoided it for a bit but finally dove in today and my son sat on our bed with me and his own book and did his own writing (copying letter he can recognize). It so touches my heart when he sits down to write with me β₯οΈ
Oh how interesting you've been diving into the modern supermarket--my husband and I were just talking about something similar last night! We just discovered a new, super small local place in our new neighborhood, and one thing we want to commit to is getting more of our fresh food from there vs the big supermarket in town. It is challenging sometimes to avoid the modern conveniences, but it is important and worth the extra step or two!
I love the image of your son writing in his own book while you wrote. I hope I have this someday with my girls! How wonderful to share that and how wonderful for him to see you writing. All of these things have an influence, and if we can raise a generation of creative writers, maybe AI won't become too dominant in the creative arts (at least that's my hope). So excited for you and the anthology--I can't wait to read it!
