Happy Halloween & Samhain!
I enjoy this time of year not because of the spooky aspects of it or because I get to dress up in a costume (though it is truly fun to dress up my little ones in cute costumes, I will admit). I like this time of year because of the magic. I like it because it reminds us of the spirit world and those who came before us.
I believe we all have a little bit of magic in us, and that magic is passed on to us by our ancestors (and ancestors are not just people related to us by blood—they are the people who came before us who were dedicated to similar pursuits). But often the trouble is that we don’t remember we have this magic. We get glimmers of it from time to time, when we feel lit up by something we created or an experience we had. But then we often go back to “real life” and paying the bills.
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty tired of the practical life. I’m in a phase where I want to live and BE my magic. I want to trust that I create my own magic—nothing external is necessary, but is rather icing on the cake.
I’ve always considered my magic to be storytelling, and I keep feeling the pull to go deeper with this, specifically to weave in the spiritual aspects I love so much into it. I don’t know exactly what that looks like or where that will lead me, but as a subscriber here, you will surely witness the evolution!
What magic within are YOU feeling called to work with right now? Is there a magic within that you’ve been ignoring or leaving for a “better” time?
To help us all tap into this energy, I created a meditative journaling track below that doubles as a journaling practice for Samhain and a Tarot/Oracle card spread. Please use this however you’d like. If you want to use it for both, that’s great too! You can always pull the cards first, then journal on how they apply to your life, or you can journal first and then pull cards for additional insights. Do whatever feels right to you in the moment.
For my paid subscribers, I pulled cards for this spread from The Seasons of the Witch Samhain Oracle and brought through a collective message for you all, along with some additional journal prompts. You will see that below if you are a paid subscriber.
As always, feel free to let me know what comes up for you, and I hope you enjoy this magical time!
