These Soul Journaling Rituals are designed to bring you into deep self-reflection, connecting you with your Soul and helping you to channel its wisdom.
New Moon in Cancer Themes
We welcome the New Moon in Cancer on June 25 at 3:31 AM PT. New Moons invite us to set intentions and create new beginnings, and with this New Moon, the manifesting magic is particularly powerful, thanks to the Saturn/Neptune alignment.
Also, the sign of Cancer is linked with the Moon, so that means the Moon feels quite at home and cozy in this sign!
During this New Moon, you may feel called to:
Explore your sense of home from within. How do you bring a sense of security and comfort to yourself, especially when the world around you feels wild or out of control? This New Moon reminds us we can always come back home to ourselves, regardless of what is happening around us.
Nurture your emotional health. How do you tend to your emotions, and how might you manage them better? With Cancer being a water sign, being in touch with our emotions is a key theme, and this New Moon invites us to listen to any emotions coming up (especially ones that have been suppressed or hidden), and get comfortable with exploring them. All of us could use more experience sitting with and accepting the emotions we donβt like feeling, which will help us learn to ride our natural emotional waves with more grace, kindness, and forgiveness.
Check in on your thoughts. In close connection with nurturing your emotional health is checking in on what youβre spending time thinking about. Are you focused on kind, encouraging thoughts for yourself, or are you leaning toward criticism and worst-case-scenario thinking? Make any necessary shifts to create more internal peace.
Lean into creativity and imagination. This is a good time for manifestation and, in particular, manifesting around your creative endeavors or dreams. Set some intentions, then let yourself move forward on that big thing youβre excited about!
Express gratitude. Creating a home within is a big theme, but this is also a wonderful time to pause and acknowledge who and what around us makes us feel safe, secure, and at home. Express gratitude for all that gives you comfort. And if there are people you feel you need to reconnect with or perhaps deepen a bond with, now is a good time to tell them how you feel.
This New Moon is an invitation to get cozy with yourself, but itβs not all about passively sitting at home or staying within our own inner worlds. Being comfortable and secure within ourselves also means being able to take action on what we really desire, making the moves necessary to create what weβre dreaming of. So go to that source of home within and let it drive you to create the world you want to seeβmaybe your actions and desires will create a better home for us all!

The Message
Your Soul Journaling Ritual for the New Moon in Cancer
Before sitting down to journal, set up a nice, cozy space. In addition to your favorite journaling materials, you could light a candle, diffuse essential oils, set out your favorite crystals, and display the Tarot cards you might want to work with for this New Moon. You could also bring out an Oracle deck.
For Tarot, hereβs what I suggest having nearby or on your altar this New Moon:
The Hermit (Card for 2025, which reminds us of the importance of going within and letting our inner wisdom guide us.)
The Moon (Secondary card for 2025, which reminds us of the importance of deep, honest reflection so we can see ourselves clearly.)
The Chariot (The Tarot card associated with Cancer, which encourages us to take charge and go after our dreams with determination, dedication, and gusto.)
Your Tarot card(s) of the year (If you donβt know what it is yet, discover it here.)
Once youβve gathered the materials youβd like, settle in to do the Soul Journaling Session, which includes a visualization and a Soul Prompt. The prompt is written as a direct question to your Soul, and this is the prompt we use for every New Moon. You can choose to journal a response or even pull your own Tarot/Oracle card for the prompt and journal on that message.
The recording of me leading you through this is below, and if you prefer to follow along on your own with a written out version, you can access that here.
The question for your Soul on the New Moon is:
Soul, where are you leading me this New Moon? What intention would you like for me to set for this new cycle?
Your New Moon in Cancer Journal Prompts
If youβd like to go deeper, prompts specifically speaking to the themes of this New Moon in Cancer are below.
Feel free to play sound healing or comforting music in the background while you journal. Iβve included a track created by my husband.
What do I imagine my home within might look like? What symbol can I use to remind myself to return to this place?
What emotions are present or coming to the surface that make me feel uncomfortable or tense? How can I create a sense of safety for myself as I process these?
What might these emotions be here to teach or show me right now?
How might the emotions Iβm processing right now fuel my creativity? How might they be a source of inspiration on this New Moon?

Additional Resources for Cancer Season
A post on Cancer & The Chariot is still coming, but it will be later this Cancer Season. We recently moved to a new home and the process was more overhwleming than I expected, so I am a bit behind. I appreciate your patience as I work to catch back up!
In the meantime, check out a post from the Archiveβlast yearβs Journaling for Cancer Season mini audio course.
Thank you for joining our Soul Journaling Circle. I look forward to reconnecting with you again at the Full Moon!
With much love and gratitude,
Marcy

Hi Marcy, I did this meditation and journaling today and found the sound of the bells or bowls in the background, your voice, the journaling prompts, and the guided journey itself to be so peaceful and potent. I really went deep and connected with myself. Just wanted to say I really appreciate your offerings. Much thanks ππΌ .
I went to a new moon circle this morning. We worked on calling our energy back and finding our center. It was an intense clearing for me. I imagined cutting all the cords I had with people that were taking my energy. My body created a lot of heat. I was deeply breathing as we went through all the chakras. At the end, we asked our higher self for advice. I was told to stay calm and know that I am exactly where I need to be. I moved to Georgia from Los Angeles last week and my new moon intentions are to create opportunities for me to perform sound baths for the community Iβm living in now. I worked at a spiritual wellness center and Iβm looking for a space to continue healing service to the whole.
