Journaling with the Moon: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo
A Soul Journaling Ritual for the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo
Welcome back to our Journaling with the Moon series! These Soul Journaling Rituals are inspired by the Tarot Cards of 2025, the Hermit and the Moon. The prompts and practices here are designed to engage you in deep self-reflection and channel your Soul’s wisdom. This is all about listening to the wise guide within.
Full Moon in Virgo & Lunar Eclipse Themes
This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo will come to you on March 13 or March 14, depending on your time zone. (If you’re in PT, it will be 11:54 PM PT on the 13th. If you’re in ET, it will be 2:54 AM ET.) There’s a lot going on with this eclipse, on top of it being a full moon! So I’m sharing a few highlights of what you might experience during this full moon:
A significant shift or change (possibly sudden) can come with any lunar eclipse, but with the current energies, expect this change to be positive (though it could not seem that way at first). It is important to remain hopeful and optimistic, and try not to get lost in fear and worry.
A major epiphany or “aha” moment that could change your perspective or plans, so stay open to any signs or signals and take the time you need to process the new information when it arrives.
A desire to examine the details of your life—the structures and routines, the people, the environments, all the ordinary, daily actions and interactions—and honestly assess whether they’re all aligned with where you want to be. Virgo reminds us that the details matter, so if anything is out of alignment, and you don’t address it, this eclipse might give you that big nudge to address it now.
Big emotions and sensitivity are always at play during Pisces Season, so do your best to stay grounded. And try not to overthink all the details you’re reviewing or be too hard on yourself (which can happen with Virgo energy).
A deep connection to Spirit, your intuition, and your inner wisdom, which will work together to guide you through any major changes, shifts, realizations, releases, or big emotions.
If you find yourself facing any unexpected shift or change, focus your energy on the positive aspects of what this will bring: greater alignment and space for you to welcome in the life you’ve been dreaming of.

Your Soul Journaling Ritual for this Full Moon
Before sitting down to journal, set up a nice, cozy space. In addition to your favorite journaling materials, you could light a candle, set up some essential oils to diffuse, bring out your favorite crystals, and/or display the Tarot cards you might want to work with for this Full Moon. You could also bring out an Oracle deck if you want extra insight.
If you choose to bring out your Tarot cards, here’s what I suggest having nearby or on your altar this full moon:
The Hermit (The card of 2025, which reminds us of the importance of going within and letting our inner wisdom guide us. This is also the card associated with Virgo.)
The Moon (The secondary card of 2025, which reminds us of the importance of deep, honest reflection so we can see ourselves clearly. This is also the card associated with Pisces, and you can dive more into how the two of these relate in my recent post on Pisces & The Moon Card.)
Your personal Tarot card(s) of the year (If you don’t know what it is yet, discover it here.)
I love that the cards of the year AND the cards for Virgo and Pisces are the same, making the messages of these cards extra potent right now! Your message from the Hermit(x2) and the Moon(x2), as seen in the image above, is:
Listen to your inner GPS.
Turn when it says to turn.
Shift gears when it says to shift.
Stop when it says to stop.
One thing is certain:
A change in route is ahead.
Full Moon Soul Activation & Soul Journaling Prompt
Once you’ve gathered the materials you’d like, settle in to do the meditation/activation and Soul Journaling Prompt for the Full Moon. The prompt is written as a direct question to your Soul, and this is the prompt we use every Full Moon.
After I lead you through the visualization and prompt in the audio track above, I leave three minutes of music playing to give you some space to journal. The full text of this practice is also written out below in case you choose to do this practice independently.
If you have time for a longer ritual, at the end of this post are a few extra journaling prompts centered on the themes of this Virgo Full Moon.
After taking a couple deep breaths to settle, follow the visualization below, and say silently to yourself or aloud the statements in italics.
Ground yourself.
Imagine there are roots growing from beneath you, traveling deep down and connecting you to the center of the Earth.
Thank you, Mother Earth, and the ancestors of this land on which I sit, for protecting and guiding me today. Thank you for helping me hear the wisdom of my Soul.
Connect to the Universe/Divine
Imagine now that there is a beautiful rose gold light flowing down like a waterfall from the sky/clouds/Universe (choose what resonates) above you. Perhaps the light is coming directly from the Moon. Choose the source that is speaking to you most today.
Thank you, Spirit Team, for protecting and guiding me today. Thank you for helping me hear the wisdom of my Soul.
Thank you, Moon, for shining your light and reflecting back what I need to know.
The light illuminates the crown of your head, activating your inner wisdom and connecting you to your Higher Self.
The light then travels to your third eye, activating your intuition.
The light settles in your heart space, connecting you to your soul.
Thank you, Higher Self and Soul for guiding me and allowing me to hear my intuition and inner wisdom today and all days.
Watch the light continue flowing down your whole body, washing away and releasing anything you do not need to bring with you into this practice.
Thank you, Spirit Team, Higher Self, and Soul for helping me release what doesn't serve me or this practice today.
Full Moon Question for the Soul
Soul, what is ready to be released?
Sit, listen, and feel into a response for however long you need to. Write down whatever comes up in whatever form it comes in. Perhaps you just write words or even sketch something you see.
If you want extra support or additional insight, pull a Tarot or Oracle card and use this as a jumping off point. Do whatever feels right in the moment.

OhmyGAAAWD I am making these practices a staple of my life! The audio is so lovely and the breakthroughs are freaking me out.
This one was all about releasing my adherence to lists and number of accomplishments and "what have I done with my lives" and legacies, and I got this message that said, "the only thing that matters is how much you love the work." I think it means if I only worked on one project for my entire life, so long as I get thoroughly lost in the process, that is enough. Of course, as a multipassionate, I'd never only work on one thing, but what a perfect way to illustrate the simplicity of what's really important.
I'm late to the party on this full moon post, but I'm literally feeling all of these things lately! I thought it was all because of mercury retrograde. Thanks for the post!
