Day 6: Gratitude for Life Experiences
Journal prompts to express gratitude for our experiences
Welcome to Day 6 of the Gratitude Reset series!
Today’s session focuses on what we’ve experienced thus far in our lives and what we are able to experiences on a day-to-day basis. These can be situations or circumstances we find ourselves in or feelings/emotions we are able to feel. All of it is valuable.
Below you will find the audio track for Day 6 and the transcription of the intro/lead-in to the meditation and journaling. The journal prompts are also listed below, in case you aren’t able to listen. As always though, I recommend listening to help create the full meditative journaling experience.
Quick reminder: If you want to receive the daily emails for the Gratitude Reset, opt in to receive them in your settings: souljournalingsessions.substack.com/account. Or simply check the app or this page each day to see the newest post.
Lesson 6: Gratitude for Life Experiences
Welcome back. We are on Day 6 of our course, and today we will focus on expressing gratitude for life experiences.
In this session, I want to encourage us to think about what experiences we're thankful that we get to have in this life. The fact that we are able to be, do, and feel is also something worthy of gratitude.
Journal Prompts:
What circumstances or situations in my life am I thankful for? (Living in a safe place, having access to good and healthy food, etc.)
What experiences am I thankful I've had in this life or that I get to have in this life?
What emotions or feelings am I thankful that I am able to feel fully?
What is something I get to do every day that I am grateful for?
What are some experiences, situations, circumstances, or feelings you’re grateful for in this lifetime? Please share—your insights could inspire someone else!
And remember, there is a special gift for anyone who completes all 8 days of this course by the end of the year: a free month of the paid subscription to the Soul Journaling Sessions. All you have to do is leave your reflections below or restack this post to Notes with your reflections or insights.
Help others who might benefit find this course/series. Share it with your friends here on Substack or elsewhere!
With much love & gratitude,
Marcy
Yesterday I was listening to my parents bicker for some random shit for 30 min. And it filled me with so much love! Last week my mom randomly gave me coffee exactly when I needed it, and my dad put blankets on me when it had come off during sleep.
My husband plugged my laptop when the charge was less even before I asked today morning, and I had my favourite ready when I woke up from him. My friend called me yesterday because she missed me...only to rant about everything that's happening.
The person who works at our home brought pongal (south indian breakfast) from home just because she knows how much I like it yesterday morning.
I could go on and on. And as I was doing the meditation now, all these images came to mind at once...and I just burst out crying 🥹❤️
This is what success looks like to me. I can't ask for more.
Food, water, shelter, clothing, people who love me and who I love in return.
Experiences: soooo many! Travel, education, community, connection. Every single day I am grateful for the present moment.
Gratitude is a heart-felt experience for me. A swelling of my heart space as light spreads out, ever growing and expanding as I think about the wonderful human beings I have the privilege of knowing and have known 💖
That I get to wake up next to my soul mate is something that fills me with joy every single day.
