Looking through the lens of love
Your Journal Prompts This Week:
What role does love play in my life? Where do I see its presence, in the big and small things?
How can I show myself and others more love and compassion this week?
How can I see a challenging situation or relationship through a lens of love?
Happy Valentine's week, friends!
I originally wasn't going to send a Valentine's-themed message, since I am sure it is being overdone this week, but I do like to be reminded of love. I'm reading another one of Gabby Bernstein's books this week (reading is one of the main things I do while breastfeeding), and she talks a lot about choosing love over fear, so I'm currently very much in this mindset.
I'm dealing with some sleep deprivation as my body adjusts to caring for a newborn, so lately I've been slipping more into frustration and fear. A voice in my head keeps shouting, "I'm never going to sleep again!" cause that's what most moms have told me is true of early motherhood especially. But going into each day with that frustration and defeatist mindset makes it harder to enjoy the moments that only this time in my life can offer me. And I think that's true for many situations that are challenging for us in the various seasons of our lives.
So I am choosing to see more through a lens of love and gratitude this week, and well, that happens to line up with Valentine's Day! If you're feeling a little cranky, tired, or just off in general as you enter this week, try out the above journal prompts. Remind yourself of the way love shows up in your life, in big and small ways, and how that makes you feel. And consider how you might help others who are experiencing a challenging time by showing them love.
As always, feel free to share any insights with me!
With much love and gratitude,
Marcy
