Happy Labor Day weekend! I hope you are taking some of this time to rest and enjoy a slower pace.
Taking time to rest is something that always seems like a good idea, but ends up last on the to-do list, behind all our obligations to others. If you have trouble resting like I do, some of my favorite ways to incorporate intentional rest include Yoga Nidra, Guided Relaxation, and sound baths or sound healing. These always help my mind and body settle down, and I often find the experience even more rejuvenating than a nap! Even if you can't attend a live class, a lot of the meditation apps out there offer these and there are many on YouTube. (My personal favorite place for these is Insight Timer.)

NEW: Prompts for Content Creators!
Content Creator Prompts:
How often do I take breaks from creating, and how do I know when it is is time to take one?
How might I benefit from taking more creative breaks?
What is the story behind any resistance I have to taking creative breaks?
What does rest look like when it comes to our creative projects?
Just because you consider yourself a creative or a creator doesn't mean you must be constantly creating. An essential part of the process is rest. You might need rest in order to incorporate and develop new ideas or in order to process and celebrate what you've just put out into the world. Or maybe you need to give a current project some breathing room. Whatever the reason, there is no shame in taking some time away from creation. I often find that when my mind rests, that's when I get the most inspired!
Create a social or blog post from these prompts
Share with your audience the story behind your resistance to taking a break from creation. (There's a good chance many of them have a similar story!) Tell them how you plan to reframe this story so you can embrace more rest in the future. Encourage them to explore how they can do the same when working on their passion projects.
