All that can happen in one year...
Your Journal Prompts This Week:
What was happening in my life and in the world one year ago? What has changed and what has not changed?
What did I do in the last year that I may not have previously believed to be possible?
What changes or growth would I like to see (both within myself and the world around me) in the next year, and what are some steps I can take to make that possible?
This week, I find myself in a reflective mode. The halfway point of 2022 (in early July) will soon sneak up on us, and I think that makes this a good time to take an assessment.
As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, this month marks one year since I went fulltime in my own business. I've been thinking about where I was and who I was in that moment, and also what was happening in the world around me. Both within and outside of myself, I see a mix of steps forward and backward: There were moments of growth to acknowledge and celebrate, and there were also moments of stagnation, of being stuck or completely thrown backward into the same old patterns.
So much can happen in one year, but it isn't all forward momentum. It's not a steady path, and that can be hard to accept at times. But I think growth comes from acknowledging that back and forth flow, rather than ignoring it. There's a lot to learn from the triumphs and the stagnation. The triumphs remind us of all that we are capable of, while the stagnation reminds us to keep moving, to hold onto our faith in ourselves and humanity, until that growth we once couldn't imagine was possible becomes a reality.
Where were you one year ago? What has changed and what hasn't? Take an honest assessment and then visualize the growth you'd like to see in another year's time. Remember to acknowledge how far you've come, and all who have helped you get there.
With much love & gratitude,
Marcy
