It has been a long time since I was a student, and I don't yet have kids to send to school, but late August/early September will always be back-to-school season for me. It's just engrained.
I had conflicting feelings about back-to-school season as a kid. I usually was both sad that summer was ending AND a little bit excited about buying all the cute notebooks and pens and binders. I was one of those kids who didn't necessarily enjoy the social aspects of school--I was definitely not the most popular or cool kid around--but part of me actually liked studying and learning. I didn't like all of the subjects (math and science were not my thing), but I did enjoy really deeply studying something I found interesting. That's when the bright-colored highlighters and sticky notes would come out!
And now, even as an adult, I'm feeling that itch to learn and study. This has led me to spend a little too much time in the school supplies section at Target, buying myself notebooks that are likely meant for pre-teens, but I'm still excited to fill them. To satisfy my urge to learn, I recently signed up for a Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training that I'll complete in late September.
What are you feeling called to learn right now? Is there anything you're curious about? It could be a good time to channel that back-to-school energy and dive into something new! As adults, we often put off learning or personal development tasks, since there is rarely any urgency around them, but we can gain so much from simply engaging with and satisfying our own curiosity. It is often what helps us be creative, and if you don't get to be creative every day in your job, taking time to learn and study could be very rewarding for your personal creative endeavors.

NEW September Offerings & Schedule
I have several classes coming up in September! If you've taken a break from your personal yoga, journaling, or meditation practices, join me for one or more of the classes below, and we'll ease back into the routine together.
The Honor Your Pace Yoga & Journaling Series: 4 Classes
We live and operate within a culture of urgency: the faster you can get something to me, the better. We're expected to respond quickly, to churn out results on a regular schedule, and to do it all regardless of whatever else is happening within us and around us. We often associate being busy with success or productivity.
Ever since I started my own businesses, I've found myself wanting to push back against this culture and find a pace that works for me. Out of this came the Honor Your Pace Yoga & Journaling Series. And to honor everyone having their own pace, this series of 4 classes will be recorded and released each Monday in September, starting September 6 and ending on September 27, so you can take each class on your own time and at your own pace.
Sacred Journaling Circle: Wednesday, September 8 at 5 PM PT
We're gathering for another Sacred Journaling Circle to kick off the month of September! I will pull cards for the group that will inform our theme for the evening. We'll start with our journal prompts and then I will lead you through a guided meditation journey. A recording will be sent out afterward if you are unable to join us live.
Yoga & Journaling Embodied Reading Classes LIVE on Zoom:
September 14 at 4 PM PT & September 26 at 9 AM PT
Following the test of my free Yoga & Journaling Embodied Reading Series, I will offer two live Embodied Reading Classes in September. The theme, of course, is to be determined! I will pull the cards that will determine the class theme about a week in advance, and I'll share them on social media. If you want to save your spot, register now for $8 per class!
If you can't make it live, a recording will be available. Classes will combine Gentle Flow & Restorative postures, with journal prompts between.
The FREE Embodied Reading series that just wrapped up is also still available. All recordings are available on MemberVault now for you to take anytime!
